At this narrow entrace stands two guards, with those guards are horns that could alert the entire sand village in mere seconds to hostile threats, also a set of visitors can be seen walking through the wall to the Sand Village, making this place an ideal area for Missing nin's to attack and kill all those visitors to steal their belongings.
